We bring all our own equipment. At small gatherings such as gallery parties or drinks receptions, a PA is rarely necessary; but we have one if needed. We will liaise with venues directly to determine if a suitable acoustic piano is available. Otherwise we will bring an electric piano. We only ask that there is access to a power point in the location that we will be setting up.
Our trio line-up is sax/clarinet; double bass & piano, and this is perfect for small getherings such as wedding receptions. In some situations, where the attendance is very large, we may suggest the addition of drums for a fuller sound. Ciaran is also the founder of the Dublin City Jazz Orchestra, so if you’re looking for a 17-piece big band this can be arranged!
The music we play relies on enhancing the acoustic character of the instruments. In some spaces, light amplification is needed to fill out the sound. The music is always at a level where it can be enjoyed without being intrusive.
We are based in the Dublin region but play throughout Ireland. We will play at overseas events as well.
